Study Trips

The Culture Animation specialisation has been organising study trips for many years and these have ever since the beginning been a crucial element in the training of future culture animators, as well as a means of establishing a network of contacts and a knowledge base about local communities.

The study trip model as a training tool was developed in many activities adopted by the team, the most important of which included an international project Localise carried out in partnership with universities in Lithuania and Great Britain. The deliverables of the project was a seminar and book Creative Communities. Field Notes containing a description of the study trip as an educational module to be applied in the local and foreign context.

The specialisation’s study trips were held in Samogitia, Podlasie and Lesser Poland, among other places, and in 2012, the international “Warsaw. Inside/Outside” study trip was held which explored the cultural sites in the capital of Poland and the Mazovian province.

The Culture Animation team was also involved in the execution of a nationwide project entitled “The Study Trip as a Means of Training of Culture Practitioners” organised by Chair of Culture Association. During the study tours, culture practitioners, culture animation students and researchers studying participation in culture. The project was financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
