Szymon Waćkowski

Classes and study tours on the Culture Animation specialization allowed me to confront myself with the areas of art that I had taken for granted (e.g. painting workshop or documentary film workshop) and made it easier to use elements of these in different areas of activity. Particularly valuable was the encounter with community arts which showed me that art can actively combat exclusion and challenge social and class divisions.
 
Stage and film director, writer, graduate of screenwriting at the Leon Schiller Film School and direction at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz Theatre Academy in Warsaw.

 

He directs films, theatre plays and televised plays e.g. Dzielni chłopcy [Brave Boys]part of the Teatroteka project, Komnata Afrodyty [Aphrodite’s Room] and performative readings e.g. Lato w Nohant [Summer in Nohant]. He writes screenplays.
