Jacek Sosnowski

Jacek Sosnowski absolwent Animacji Kultury Instytutu Kultury Polskiej Uniwersytetu WarszawskiegoThere were a few of the most significant experiences during the studies. There were both positive and negative but always served as a point of reference for future work. During the specialization I realised what I did not want to do and did not enjoy doing and this was particularly inspiring – to try out in areas that you have absolutely no talent for which others are good at, and it is on this experience that I want to feel respect for those people and go my way with a clear vision of what I do not want but what is still necessary. This is the essence of the specialization in the first place – to specialize in something yourself. As such, specialization means reduction. At the stage of the studies, the reduction concerns the illusory potentials and thinking that anyone can do anything. Without Culture Animation as an element of my education this would not have been possible. Of course, it took me a long time to eventually reach this conclusions in my everyday work but Culture Animation will always be a point of reference where the competence of so many different people and diverse strategies in the area of culture and art meet that you would be hard pressed to find another source of such extensive knowledge how to do something, and how not to do it.

He runs the Propaganda gallery and foundation at ul. Foksal. Organiser of the Warsaw Gallery Weekend. Since 2017, a curator of Dom Development City Art Foundation.
