Ewa Chomicka

Ewa Chomicka absolwentka Animacji Kultury Instytutu Kultury Polskiej Uniwersytetu WarszawskiegoThe most important experience for me as part of the specialization was to take an avid interest in animation via meetings with inspiring people and getting to know diverse ways of workings with people.

 

 

Polish philologist, ethnologist, culture animator, graduate of museum and curator studies in the field of exhibiting contemporary art.

 

She heads the Museum Practices Laboratory at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews – a unit responsible for the development of collaboration between the museum and contemporary artists both in Poland and internationally and the development of long-term, interdisciplinary initiatives combining contemporary art, research and education with a special focus on participation practices. Earlier, she headed the Adult Education Unit at the same museum where was working on a program of artistic residencies, anti-discriminatory and community projects such as Polin Choir, Neighbours Get-togethers, Warsze.

 

Previously she had worked at the Ethnographic Museum where she was responsible for the education of adults and was the Editor in Chief of the Etnografia Nowa [New Ethnography] magazine. She collaborated with, among others, the Polish Institute of Anthropology, the University of Warsaw, the National Centre for Culture, the Mazovian Centre for Culture and Art. Together with the team of the Terenowy Kolektyw she published a book Etnografia/ Animacja/ Sztuka [Ethnography/Animation/Art]. Together with the female group Pochwalone she recorded the album Czarny war, has been a member of the Women’s Choir for a few years now.
